New beginnings

I have launched Mill Town Molly as a real business and here are the photographs of my launch at my local village fete.
I am selling my stitched vintage products at the Percy House Gallery in Cockermouth here in Cumbria for the moment. I hope to take them to craft and vintage fairs in the North in the new year.

I am also currently studying on an online course called Make it in Design run by Rachel Taylor who is a successful surface pattern designer and illustrator.rachaeltaylordesigns.co.uk Once I have completed the course I hope to concentrate on my surface pattern designing.

I am currently working on my signature style and hope to be selling items made from the fabrics I have designed under my own name of Fiona Ashford in Cherry Didi in Keswick from February 2015, and my designs will be for sale and licence from May 2015.
Here are photographs of some cushions made from fabric I designed while studying on my Foundation Degree.

  1. Hi Fiona .. How is this going? I really want to get started on making & selling, undecided if I need to pick one product to make or just stick with variety. Thinking of aiming for a craft fayre x

    1. Hi Sarah, I came to a bit of a stand still but am now back on track to get stuff made. I have my things for sale in The Percy House Gallery in Cockermouth. I too would like to do some craft fairs this Summer. Just about to start module 3 of the online course I'm taking with the Surface pattern designer Rachael Talyor called The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design. This is going to be the module about monetizing our designs and you get a little black book of contacts in the business. I've been kind of hanging back for this module so I get it right. Still also trying to find my style. You have always had a very distinctive style so it shouldn't be a problem for you. Are you going to be printing or printing and sewing or just sewing?
